Default XP ot Vista for my laptop

I have the Gateway MT3705 laptop I bought last year and I'm going to reformat the hard drive and I was wondering if I should put Windows Vista Ultimate on it or Windows XP Professional. I own both and over the past year I have had both on my laptop and they both run good. I was just wondering what you guys thought. My system specs are 1.6ghz Pentium Dual Core with 2gb of ram and 128mb of dedicated graphics memory.

Its really down to you. If you own both then go with what you prefer.

I would choose vista over xp now. Vista is much better IMO.

Vista with SP1 installed. Since you have 2GB of RAM, Vista should work well. I have a laptop with 1GB, and Vista lagged...

Thats pretty good. I tried it on a 1GB of RAM system with a X1950XTX and it did not want to play nice went I went to 4GB it was a much smoother experience. Do you get a lot of swap file access on that? Just curious.

My Acer laptop came with Vista Home Premium. I switched to XP Pro 2 weeks ago. I switched back to Vista last night because IMO it was better.
