I'm going to be getting a macbook soon. Now im just wondering whether or not i should get the 2GB of ram standard or the 4GB for an extra $180. I know if i really wanted to i could buy ram myself and stick it in there for maybe a little cheaper, but im more concerned whether or not it would be worth it to stick another 2 gigs in there. I do want the laptop to run as smooth as possible. Is 2 gigs more than a macbook would need or would 4 gigs be a worthy addition?

no just get like 1GB and you can manually upgrade it by buying ram from newegg.com for about 40 dollars per 2GB , which would save you 100 dollars.

I also got a macbook recently, and so far, 2gb has been enough to multitask my various applications. And like noname said, you can just upgrade it later. It's really easy. Just pop out the battery and unscrew a panel and you can pop out the ram.

Dude I bought a refurb MacBook from the site and took it to a Mac store and they installed 4GB's for $90.
