I must say that laptop would hold you over pretty darn well.

with your computer the specs for gpu
NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS

3DMark 06:min: 3584, avg: 3763, max: 4078 points for $2000 lappy

with Gateway® P-172S FX Edition(8800gts)
8800 gts bench

3DMark 06: min: 8539, avg: 9143, max: 9593 points for a $1400 lappy
btw from the other post your can upgrade the cpu but not gpu
ram is cheap upgrade to get also

BTW there was a cheaper one at $1350 with 4 gig of ram and a cheap processor which could have been very easy to upgrade but it seems Gateway doesn't carry the product anymore lol

The G1 series mates a noncompetitive GPU to a bulky 15.4" platform. If you want the most powerful gaming laptop for a reasonable price, look at the Gateway FX P-172. If you want a real *laptop* that you can carry around and still game, look at the Asus F8SP-X1 - it's $1000 on Newegg right now.

That is a nice laptop but personally I think you could find cheaper without sacrificing (too much) the specs. *cough*Gateway*cough*
