Hello there Im repairing a friends laptop a Dell Insparon 6400
__________________Her problem was that the prevous installation of windows was currupt so i re-installed windows and now its fine However in device manager under unknown devices I see three items called "base system device". The dell website and windows update has nothing driver wise any ideas what they could be and where i can get the drivers for them I cant really say ive fixed it if all the hardware is not properly installed. Thank you

yeah, base system is almost always the chipset. Sometimes it's those annoying card readers...
