Default PCMCIA question

Hey everyone, there's something that I don't understand, is PCMCIA the same as ExpressCard? I don't know if PCMCIA is just the word used for these kind of slots but it's really confusing... Any help?

They are totally different. PCMCIA is an older card slot style and Express is the new card style that is similiar to PCI Express 1x.

Wiki has a good synopsis of it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PC_card

Basically analogous to PCI vs. PCI-E I think. Expresscard is a different interface with a higher bandwidth--not sure, connection-wise, how exactly they differ.
