My laptop has 2x 1gb of memory can i put a 2gb memory stick in and a 1gb memory stick in although it is a 64bit cpu i only have windows vista 32 bit so i can only use 3gb of ram(is this right?) if i did this would it affect the DDR?
The laptop is a asus a7sv.

Depends on how many DIMM slots the laptop has.

You should just buy another 2GB stick and put it in (provided you have a free slot) and let Windows figure out the 32-bit deal. I find it easier to run two DIMMs of the same capacity and speed in Dual Channel. Other setups may work, but that's what I've always done.
