Default Can you change the processor?

I was wondering, on this model it says support of up to X6800, so can I change the processor? I know nothing about laptops, go easy on me

I have found a model with an E6600, so theoretically I could swap it out for a quad? I want to know in that case I won't bother selling the quad.

Intel 945G chipset. I am pretty sure that chipset doesn't support a Quad. It's quite an old chipset, and probably is ok for a lappy.

Note that this chipset also only supports up to an FSB of 1066MHz. Thus, forget the 1333MHz FSB chips also (E6x50 series).

I checked the CPU support for a random Asus board with the 945G chipset, and indeed, no support for the Quad.

I am thinking also you might have heat problem due to the fact that laptops are design with the type of component listed from the factory. Meaning, adding two more core CPU might be an issue since is design for two core.

The X6800 is just the extreme edition core 2 duo. If it supported quads it would say Q6#00, QX6#00, Q9#00 or QX9#00.

Correct. But it states 'up to' X6800 This is a very vague wording, and could include Quads (not likely, but still).

but again, it won't support the Quad, nor the 1333FSB Core 2 Duos, given the Intel 945G chipset.
