I hate to tell you this you probably damaged the circuit board. I have worked on 3 HP laptops that were dropped and the wireless stopped working. One was dropped from only 6in onto a carpet. They were of the newer MiniPCIexpress cards. You said it was held in by screws so I believe that you have the same type. The older miniPCI cards were held in by clips. Does the computer still see the card or is it coming up unidentified? If its unidentified then its most likely the system board. I hope that card works for you.
