Do you guys think there would be a difference with the pentium m 1.6 and this celeron 1.3 ?

I think there would be a decent improvement from a celeron to a pentium M. If you can find one for a good price, I say go for it.

I think it has to be a 400MHz FSB CPU for it to work..

You have to remember always, the laptop chassis is designed to only handle so much heat, I do not know what kind of research you will have to do, but find out if the upgraded processor will put out more heat than your celeron M.

also the one that I just linked it is a 478 and this pc has a 479 socket would it still work

2 things here:

1. The CPU you linked is a 533 FSB: Intel® Pentium® M 740 CENTRINO 1.73GHz,2MB, 533MHz SL7SA

2. They are all actually 478, they are just given the 479 designation to differentiate them from the previous 478. It is confusing, I know.
