Default Need Best Gaming Computer that $1500 Can Buy.

My friend is in the market for a gaming computer that he can also do his schoolwork on. He was looking at an alienware, but I told him that it is a poor investment, and that he will never see his moneys worth if he decided to go with it. Anyways, I wanted to open his mind a little by showing him a different selection of computers that he can get for around the same price. He does not want a 17" because he will be traveling alot with it and he finds that it is a little too big for him. So anyways, he wants to be able to game online with it and play games such as Call Of Duty 4, Age of Empires, and Battlefield 2/3.

So, if you guys could show me some other options that would suit him better than an alienware, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks alot.
