hey guys i recently had to part with my desktop (QQ) for a laptop i needed for college, and i just have a couple questions about laptops:
__________________1. Overclockable? 2. can you (depending on model) swap video cards? 3. is ATI better or Nvidia for laptop cards, or does it really matter My laptop is a Gateway M6864FX

No, you don't want to overclock a laptop, you can, but the heatsink can't keep up with the extra heat. And i'm pretty sure you can swap out video cards, but like I said, the stock heatsinks are pretty much limited to that specific card, anything hotter, and the heatsink can't keep up with it.

1- I'm sure its possible to overclock but to a very limited extent plus the heat will be a major problem so you would overheat your laptop
2- Not sure 3- depends on the model like a mobility radeon 3650 is better than geforce 7100

1)You can oc a notebook usually threw software, but it's not recommended(fans can't dissipate heat well enough to run over specs poor ventilation).
2)Yes you can swap gfx's cards depending on notebook, but in most situations no. 3)Both seem to make pretty good cards for notebooks, but at the moment I think Nvidia is a step ahead in this department.

Well. Heat sinks store the heat and the fans blow it out. Laptops have small sinks and fans so heat is the issue.
I have never heard of anyone upgrading a GPU on a laptop other than when you buy it. You will not like gaming on a laptop, so the GPU is not the important thing. Expect less for all games
