Suddenly my DVD rom drive stopped working..
It is no longer is My Computer
It is still getting power, when I eject the drive
I looked for it in device manager and it was there but with an error

I tried to update the driver from device manager and it said the drivers are already installed

I tried disabling the driver and enabled it

I tried to uninstall the Driver restart and it was back in device manager but with the same problem.

And it also seems that I am not the only one having this problem (See Link Below)

I have tried looking around for the driver to download but found it to be no where, not on the pioneer and HP website.


ANY ADVICE

have you plugged in any external drives?.....or did it just stop working all of a sudden?

i have had no external drives it just suddenly stopped, i dont use alot but i noticed it yesterday.

Its the HP Pavilion DV6700 i dont know if it is T or not, i dont know how to check

i take it it's a 32bit os.....if yes then i would suggest reinstalling chipset drivers for starters......it is under Driver-Chipset
