How have I not seen this club before?

I've got:
Acer Aspire One (Sapphire Blue)
Atom 1.6Ghz
1.5GB RAM
160GB hard drive
Upgraded the Atheros wireless to an Intel 4965
Running Ubuntu 8.10

Love this thing to death!

It's not that bad in all honesty. I was a little concerned before cracking it open, but find a good guide (one on aspireoneuser.com - very comprehensive) and you'll be fine. Provided you keep your parts organised, your workspace neat, and follow instructions, you'll be fine. Hell, if i can do it...

The 8.9" models will be going for cheap soon when Acer discontinues them to introduce the new 10" units.

Agreed. The first time I pulled my Aspire apart, I was a little afraid. Now I have no qualms about it.

Hmm I might eventually give this a try then. Adding a touch screen and upping my RAM to 1.5 GBs sounds appealing. Too bad I can't replace the graphics chipset.

Just changed it, thanks for the update!
