Quick question: some of you post that you have Atom N270 1.98GHz, but its rated at 1.6GHz on Intel's Processor Finder. Did you overclock it ? If yes, how much does atom overclock ?

Yes, some netbooks such as the MSI wind allow for an overclock up to 2 Ghz (1.98 Ghz really)

With a 6 Cell battery? How are you measuring this?
I don't understand how mine is predicted at such a small battery life when we are running essentially the same hardware.
I think I'm going to do a manual test in a bit, set a timer for 30 minutes, with my battery at 100% and with OneNote 2007 open. Wifi off, screen on minimum brightness, then let it sit there and measure how much battery drained away in those 30 minutes. Then calculate the full lifetime myself...

Acer One user reporting in.
1.6ghz Atom
8GB SSD
512 MB Ram (basic version, upgrade to follow)
Linpus version, but still deciding on the right OS for me. Linpus is definately not it. XP might.
(white)

Important Question:
Has anyone had any luck installing Windows 7 on their netbooks? I tried today and got a "cannot complete due to hardware" or something. I'm hoping this is purely down to the puny 8GB SSD, and that my incoming 16GB SD card will solve this.

If you take a look at a couple reviews, the NC10 has the best battery life out of all the netbooks on the market, and thats the reason why I got it... those numbers I gave you were just estimates, but are relatively similar to ones that come from actual reviews

All netbook owners UPDATED!

I have installed Windows 7 on my netbook... I do believe that they recommend something around 10-14GB free space so your 8GB SSD does seem like the issue

I brought my MSI Wind to my first class of the Spring semester at UH and my friends thought it was awesome.

They definitely wanted one, and when I told em they price they wanted one even more

One of my friend had never even heard of a netbook. He was like
What is that thing?
A netbook.
What can you do it on?
Everything you do on a regular computer just about it.
