Default Laptop DVD Drive

The DVD drive on my laptop busted - its a msi 163a barebone, same shell as the prebuilt gx600
http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/produc...?model=MS-163A (actually a 15 inch screen)
It bought the barebone about 6 months ago for 450 bucks and about and a half ago the dvd drive stopped reading dvds, it opens and closes and the computer recognizes the drive but it doesnt acknowledge that disks were ever inserted...
The dvd drive itself was kind of annoying the button to open it was easily pushed on accident and frequently the drive unwantedly opened...
Any reccomendations for a good slot loading dvd drive replacement that wont have this problem, or break?
