The default speed is 1.66GHz but it can be overclocked to 1.75GHz by selecting Super Performance Mode in the Asus Super Hybrid Engine software. I've also tried overclocking more with SetFSB but didn't get much more. I only got it to 1.8GHz OCCT stable. Much more than that and it would reboot. I did see someone with a 1000HE on OCN who got close to 1.9GHz: link.

Would be cool if they would make a netbook with an insane OC potential

I'm thinking this would be perfect for when I get my Z up and going again and Nistune (custom engine tuning software for ECU) installed on the ECU to control the larger injectors...hmmmm...

There's no point. Also, not much point to OCing a mobile processor to begin with as they're built to be power efficient and draw as little power as possible to conserve battery life.

I have read about people doing this, but a vast number of them do not stress test them after doing so. I was reading a thread not long ago and instead of them running a stress test program they thought a streaming video would be enough to test it. I set them straight.

Just got this netbook too. Any idea if battery life would be better with Ubuntu 9.04 netbook remix instead of XP?

(crosses out previous response)

You might get less battery life using Ubuntu, but given that the Atom N270 uses 2.5 W at full load, it might not matter which OS you use. Also downclocking your CPU using SuperHybridEngine (SHE) might not affect battery life all that much, again given that the CPU is very power efficient and will clock itself down when idle.
