Nope the 1000HE has a 160 GB HDD while the 901 uses SSD's (Solid State Drives) and those I believe are limited to 20GB and under (stock that is, you could always upgrade). All in all the 1000HE is well worth the money unless you want to wait until sometime around summer when they will hopefully release a dual core atom processor, which is what I am waiting for

Not only 66MHz but 667 FSB vs 533 FSB so you can load DDR2-667 ram in it, a little bigger keyboard. I think thats about it tho...

ZipZoomFly has the ASUS 1000HA for $309 after MIR. Spend another $30 or so and you can upgrade the RAM from 1 GB to 2 GBs yourself.

I already have a 2gb DDR2 So-Dimm and a 16GB runcore SSD which will run in an eee 900, 900A, 901, and S101. I saw a 1000HA at BB today, It looked a little big and the keyboard turned me off.

I think a 901 would be good. I already have a rockin SSD for it. It would be cheaper too... I can save some of that money.

... it's not 16G if you upgrade it to 16Gigs. What's the original one? 2G? 4G? 8G?

What are you referring to, my original eee 900? It is officially referred to as the eee 900 16g because it didn't have a soldiered 4gb ssd like the rest of them. Instead it had a 16gb removable ssd to cut costs. It has terribly slow write speeds, which crippled it. I changed it out with a Runcore ssd of the same capacity.
