I have a Macbook Pro with the below specs. I have been gaming on it lately and it runs games pretty well but I am wondering if I will see any significant performance boost by upgrading from Windows XP to Vista or this Windows 7 i've been hearing about.
XP Only supports 3gb ram... and I guess i'd have to check into whether or not Vista can be loaded onto my mbp but that shouldn't be hard ![]() Macbook Pro Specs 2.8ghz Intel Core 2 Duo 4gb RAM (1066ghz i believe) 9600GT

Download the 64-bit version, it should run like a charm, and while you're at it buy the upgrade while its still $50

ok will most games and programs (steam, xfire, etc) run on windows 7?
I am not sure if this is going to work on my mac because of the apple software drivers that i have to download through bootcamp. I'll have to do some research and see but i highly doubt windows 7 is supported yet!The OS will probably work, though... I may just have trouble finding the right chipset drivers and a lot of the mac keyboard features will be unavailable. Does that sound about right?

See if this article helps: http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/new...-a-macbook.ars Once it ships though I'm sure it will work wonderfully on a mac book, since it has built in multitouch support already. Microsoft is just a software company, they don't really care about how you run Windows, only that you do, so optimizing Windows 7 to run on Macbooks is definitely a good thing. As for games, I've had no real issues. If you're running the game for the first time it may get a little wonky but once you set the resolution right I find it even runs better than Vista.
