Hey, ive been looking to get a netbook for university, but can't make up my mind so I thought Id ask here. Ive been looking at 3 different ones, but if there are any that I am missing that are great deals let me know.
__________________The 3 ive been looking at are: MSI Wind http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0128876&catid= HP Mini http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0125195&catid= Acer Aspire One http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0124975&catid= One thing that sucks is that all of them only have a 3-cell battery, but I was hoping for a 6. Anyways, how do these ones look? Any other ones you would recommend?

Well all 3 of them are basically the same laptop, and I believe all 3 of them are on display. Go to Futureshop and try them out. Personally I liked the HP Mini, it has the best keyboard out of the 3.
If you want a 6 cell you'll probably have to get a custom one through Dell, which will cost you about $370.

With netbooks I find that keyboard + battery life are most important. I don't have experience with them so I'm sorry I can't recommend one.

I went to futureshop and they didnt have the wind, but they did have the hp mini. I loved the keyboard and especially the touchpad. The only reason I havnt rushed out to buy it is that:

When I saw the mini, I didnt see too much of a difference, but I have heard that some website or programs have trouble displaying at 1024x576, is there any truth to that?

I wouldn't know. I didn't even know it was 1024x576. Any windowed program won't have any trouble, and its only a little smaller (removing the bookmarks toolbar in FF will get you back the space you lose) What about this one? http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pro...0124800&catid= Its online only but you can get it shipped to the store for a local pickup for free. It uses a 16GB SSD, but based on my own experiences at University that shouldn't be an issue.

I did see that one as well. Would you happen to know if I could upgrade any of these to 2GB? Also, would windows 7 be able to run on these if they had 2GB?

They should be able to run 2GB. The only ones that couldn't were the early Eee PCs that had onboard memory. And Windows 7 should run fine even on 1GB.

I also found a 6 cell mini at costco for $90 more, so I guess I have to decide between the two now.
