Default Laptop keeps blue screening when its moved

Looks like i'm gonna have to pull my laptop apart. I have an Acer aspire 5100 and when it is moved it blue screens then when it reboots it does not see hard disk or cd drive. Takes a million restarts before it recognises it again and then after 10 min ends up blue screening again if its moved. Looks like a faulty connection on the motherbaord or something. Does anyone have any experience with this problem and can give some advise as to what to check?

Your CPU or RAM could be poorly seated.

obviously a physical issue if movement (slight) causes this problem. I would open the back and check ram first, make sure it is snug. Then the HDD, and cpu if you know a thing or too about working inside of a laptop (really hard to do IMO first time).

made sure the hard drive was secure and checked ram. Took it apart as far as I could and then got to the one screw which would rather break up to a flat surface than unscrew. There is always one screw like that. I reckon they have it in a seperate bag and have a laugh as to where to put it to inconvinience people most. Gonna have to get the drill on it I think.

Are you on battery when you do this, is the power brick plugged in?

look for any separation of the outer casing or bulging. that will be a big indicator of your problem. if you dont see anything then you probably have a separation on one of the PCB's in the laptop like the wireless card or the 12v power input from the side.

I'm thinking it might be an issue with the power jack as it started out when moving the power cable but now happens if its in or not so it might be that it is loose. Would I just need to solder it?

Most likely if that's the case then, yes solder would probably fix it.

Found the problem. Two feet from the Network port had came out. Gonna solder them but working fine just placed back in so far.
