Like champions ![]() I'm still waiting to see if there's any way to get more than 1.1V through it. I've seen a few screenies with 1.25V so I'm working on contacting them to see how they got that. I currently have the highest CPU-Z validation on HWBot for the N270... with 1.25V I could destroy that! And probably take first for SuperPi and a few other benchies. EDIT: I see you're from KC. I was over there a few weeks ago at Rockhurst visiting another chapter of my fraternity for their annual toga party. It was a great time.

Anyway netbooks aren't geared towards powerhousing processes. A good notebook will definitely suffice for office applications and even games. (This is a generalization that most office apps aren't meant for number crunching,encoding,etc...)

A moderate overclock is very safe. The Asus comes with the SuperHybrid Engine which allows you to overclock to 1.7GHz, also called its "Performance" setting. As this is the only one I've delt with, it's all I can recommend. I've had no issues with it at all.

I'm trying to figure out how to OC my Toshiba NB205. I have an applique on it and so I want to be able to say it is overclocked, even if only .01 GHz.
But yeah, using SetFSB, I don't know which clock generator to use...

Yes, my MSI wind has been overclocked since I got it over a year ago and it makes a very big difference, especially for games
You need BIOS 1.09 and a power source lol. Ignore the ones that don't actually have any experience in this matter.

Do NOT overclock a netbook, because the cooling is so poor you risk burning out the whole thing, and then you have nothing and are X less in cash.

The MSI Wind U100 can be overclocked to 2GHz but only on AC power. Despite what others may say it actually doesn't harm the Atom to run 2GHz. It does have a pretty significant power draw compared to stock 1.6GHz but 2GHz is useful for when your at home working.
