Heh, milujem Google Translate. Nie som si istý, laptopy, ktoré si môžete pretaktovať sa ani bios mods, ale som si istý, môžete použiť program s názvom SetFSB, a že by alwaus práce. I'm using ono ďalej má 800MHz UMPC, aby bolo 1100MHz.

Pokiaľ ide o netbook, ktorý sa dostať, doporučuji buď MSI Wind, pretože tam je veľa pre neho pomoc, inak najlacnejšie nájdete.

if you OC it say goodbye to your battery life.

generally it isn't a good idea to OC them. still the MSI WIND and some EEE models can be overclocked. the MSI via a turbo button i think, and the EEE via Super Hybrid Engine which comes installed.

To clarify and make myself crystal clear:

My MSI wind overclocks to 2Ghz. It can only be overclocked by pressing the Function and F10 keys and only when plugged into a power source, so it doesn't effect battery life.

Secondly The difference in temperature created by an over-clock is virtually none-existent. Furthermore, you may replace the heatsink with a custom-made German one which will drop temperatures by a few degrees centigrade.

So in the end my Wind could function around the clock with the over-clock enabled. When I get it to school or I'm out I can plug it in and play games like GTA V.C comfortably. I may even watch 720HD videos which isn't possible without an over-clock.

Agreed. Taking my Atom from 1.6GHz to 2.1GHz raises temperatures a couple of degrees. Voltage is where heat comes from, not the clock.

I've disassembled my NB205-N312/BL, equiped with the KAVAA motherboard, and found the clock generator IC to be SLG8SP556V. However, the current version (2.2.130.96) of SetFSB does not list this IC, but it does list the SLG8SP513V, which is close enough that it would allow clicking the Set FSB button without locking-up the PC.

However, either the listed SLG8SP513V is different enough that it can't actually set the FSB, or the clock is locked so that it won't accept the change -- the FSB just jumps back to selection 2/6 (166.7) after clicking the SetFSB button. Perhaps some sort of hardware hack is required to fix this, or it might be fixed if the SetFSB author eventually adds the SLG8SP556V IC to the list.

I hope this information was helpful.

Very helpful!! Thanks! (and welcome to the forum ) Hopefully SetFSB will be updated with this new IC.

You are right, yout PLL has TME mode enabled.
This means no software overclocking until you pin mod the PLL.

I can show you how, I have done it to my PLL here:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=393027

Basically you have to pull the TME pin low, to disable TME mode. Then you can use setfsb.

If you have any questions for me, or you want my help, just ask on the thread I gave a link to.

cheers

Most anynetbook should be OCable via software.

I was able to get a stable 33.3% OC (took the celeron M from 900MHz to 1.2GHz) on my Eee PC 900:

I was able to acquire the datasheet for the Silego SLG8SP556V i/c and sent it to Abo, the developer of SetFSB. He replied back that the i/c "doesn't have the function that change FSB with the software. To my regret, I can not support it." So, the hardware modification will be the only resort for our Toshiba NB205-N3xx netbooks.

Thanks for your help!
