Default Updating BIOS mess with touchpad?

Hey, i posted a thread asking why my touchpad randomly stopped working from time to time (i tried everything up to reformatting) and i just had a thought.
Before it started giving me trouble, I updated my BIOS with the asus flash utility. (asus N50vn laptop). could that somehow have an effect on the touchpads function?

I just want to know because this is my main computer and sending it in only to be computer-less for over a week in school isn't on the top of my list. thanks for any feedback!
