I got my girlfriend a pink Acer Aspire One for $200 off eBay. She was happy... thankfully she hasn't broken it yet.

From what I hear the Asus is good and my cousin had a MSI wind that is good also. Just make sure you get the 160gb hd as the ssd versions are so slow it makes you want to break it. I would try to go into the store and see which one you like the keyboard and mouse the most, as all the netbooks are pretty much the same internally.

Id go for a seashell personally. The 1005 (I think?) model just below the 8 without the polymer battery has pretty good battery life. Not to mention some form of style unlike the others.

Its all opinion really. 99% of them have the exact same hardware.

I'd agree with the 1005 Asus Seashell model.
Essentially, these are all the same... the 1005 has pretty much everything you could ask for. Nice battery life, decent aesthetics...etc.

I'd say ASUS Eee PC 1000HE 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 9.5 Hour Battery Life is a great one to buy. You can have a look at those 843 customer reviews for it.
