I had a quick question, this netbook has a SSD.

can i take that out and just put in a 2.5" sata drive?

Most likely not, chances are it uses a 1.8 inch Mini PCI-Express slot SSD. Besides, they only have a bottom slot for RAM.

Yup, it is definitely a miniPCIe SSD (here's an example of one):
