ok, here are my laptop specs
__________________Acer Aspire 5315 Intel Pentium Dual core 1.8Ghz 2GB DDR2 ram 80GB HDD Intel X3100 up to 252MB Vista Home Basic 64-bit I was looking at some prices and my god the 8800M is like £100 on eBay. These GPU's aren't cheap. So im after a cheap laptop GPU what will run most games, be it on medium or low. Hoping for a 512MB Not looking to spend to much. So, which laptop GPU to go for?

Your laptop will not support external graphics cards, as it does not have MXM. Which it needs to be able to upgrade the GFX.

Mobo Master

yup sorry man, but unless your lappy's mobo supports mxm slots then you cant install a gpu. The gpu's are normally soldered onto the mobo, but with mxm they are slotted in so can be upgraded.

Yes you CAN buy them. But they will not go into your lappy cause you do not have the correct slot ofr it, your gfx chip is soldered into you lappy's mobo right now.

A Mobile PCI Express Module (MXM) is an interconnect standard for GPUs (MXM Graphics Modules) in laptops using PCI Express created by MXM-SIG. The goal was to create a non-proprietary, industry standard socket, so one could easily upgrade the graphics processor in a laptop, without having to buy a whole new system or relying on proprietary vendor upgrades.

Thanks. So there is no other option like a external USB device thing that can be connected to a GPU?
