Question Thoughts on this laptop?

http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/pdet.to?poid=452632

I'm eying this Toshiba X505-Q830. It seems to have some pretty good specs.

Is the 720QM a good cpu chip? How would you rate this chip against a T9600, T9700, or T9800? How does the chip compare with those laptops that have just a standard Core i7?

How does the Geforce 250M fare?

How does this machine stack up to the competition? In terms of price, this machine seems to be quite less expensive than comparable machines. Am I missing something that the other machines have that this one doesn't?

The laptop isn't meant to be a desktop replacement. I just want a big laptop to keep in the living room for when I'm watching TV or for when I'm away on travel for work and wanna pay a video game in my hotel room.

My total budget for a new machine is $1800.

Any comments and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Looks like a great laptop to me. If your looking to buy a gaming laptop, there's a guy selling a laptop with a gtx 280m in the for sale section for $1500. Look around though, weigh your options, here's a good site to refer to for a notebook graphics card ranking. Newegg of course has great deals on laptops, but it's likely you won't find the absolute best for your money there.

Thanks for the recommendations folks. Are Sager laptops really that good? Quite a few peoe i've played PC games with have always complained that they run really hot and don't last too long.

Any good laptops in the $1500-$1600 range?

Is the 280M noticeably more powerful than the 260M?

Keep the recommendations coming

Thanks!

Look at the ASUS G51J-A1
http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g51ja1-p...wconfigure=yes

It is under 1500 with i7 and 260M. Possibly the best bang for your buck right now because the chassis is amazing. There is an HP at best buy for 1500ish also that is i7, 6gb, 500gb, and 230m. I would not buy something that isnt at least 260M and i7 right now though. That HP has a BD, but to me BD is useless, because I can download Blueray movies and just watch them on the screen.

Look at the Sager NP8690 i7 and GTX280m at Xotic. I think $1800 well configured.

Weelll duuuhhh! A i7m, GT280m, ext. in that small of a case with 1-2 fans on a battery? These laptops "portable" means you can go into another room, dragging the charger with you.
