Default Vaio VGN-NR185E Questions

I've been thinking about modding my laptop for some more performance, since the current setup is a little dissapointing. I'm running a T5450 1.66GHz preocessor, 4gb ddr2, and 500gb 5400rpm hdd. I think I could easily plug in a new socket p processor and get some performance gains. I was thinking maybe a t7500 or T8100. Any ideas? Suggestions? I don't really plan on overclocking, the heat would be a bit risky in a confined laptop case.

I'm new to performance minded modifications, but I'm no stranger to working on computers so I'm up for the workload.

What are the limitations I should take into account when attempting this build? i.e. motherboard/bios limitations, .

Your CPU upgrades sound good and easy. Oh in your sig you say no GPU? You do have one even if not discrete. Might want to add to sig.

Thanks for the reply,
I'm trying to win a T8300 right now, 2.4GHz/3M/800FSB... so hopefully it will work out and I'll get to post some results... I think it said the max fsb for my mobo is 800mhz so it should be dead on what I need... I'll put the cpu-z info down for my gpu, but its just onboard.
