Default Need laptop for college.
So i plan on attending Ohio state university next year for web site design. I need a laptop...

I would like something that could game decently and be sturdy. My budget is around $600-$800. I plan on keeping my sig rig as well.

Before you purchase anything, make sure they dont have any requirements for the classes you take. I know some require a Mac. Just a thought. Hate to see you purchase something you cant use when money will be tight.

What you want to look for is 1066FSB, 3mb cache, dedicated GPU, and cooling. I lucked out and got my ACER for $850 after rebates. Now similar models are going for $1100 and up.

I got my Acer in February and beat it to death. It is used for work, and for my HTPC (Bluray), and mounts in my 4Runner on a stand as part of my portable office. I do landscape construction so it can get rather dirty, and it is used for presentations to customers. I like it because I can take all the covers off of it and blow it out once a week. Oh, it is also my second folder, so it is almost always running. So far I have not had any real issues with it, just that I have to make sure my BD is clean before I watch a movie. It also has 2 exhaust ports, so if one gets blocked, it will still cool. Now I also use a Zalman cooling pad, just to make sure it stays cool. I have done a couple of upgrades to it (check out systems in profile) but it has been a good laptop, very rugged.

sony is rather expensive, they are good but i find they are overpriced.... u could get a toshiba or hp with similar specs and save some money
