Toshiba A135-S4427 hangs while installing Windows - Overclock.net

I have a laptop I'm trying to fix and it's giving me problem after problem. First I received it and it would not POST most of the time. The few times it would, it would only stay on for a few minutes and turn off. So I ran memtest, and found that was the problem. I replaced the RAM and it worked. Then I tried to install Windows, and it would hang. I have tried Vista, XP, and 7. None work. Eventually it just locks up during some loading part. I have tested the RAM with memtest, that CPU with Prime95, and the HDD with Fujitsu's diagnostic tool. What could be wrong? Is the motherboard dying?

EDIT: I should describe it hanging better. The screen stays wherever it was and stops moving. Right now I put the XP disc in and it hung on the "Setup is starting Windows" part toward the beginning. In general it seems to hang on loading parts. During W7 installation, it likes to hang on the moving Windows logo and on Vista installation it likes to hang on the moving loading bar. Is this indicative of a storage controller with a pin or two loose?
