I'm having trouble with slow downloads of about 10Kb/s or less for my Asus Eee 1000HE. When I use the built-in wired NIC I get over 200Kb/s or more downloads. Windows XP doesn't have this problem, but Windows 7 RC and my recently installed Windows 7 Home Premium retail do. I was hoping the retail version would fix the problem but it didn't. I've updated the BIOS to the newest version (1002), Windows 7 found a driver for my wireless card so I downloaded that, and I've also tried a static IP but I've never had to do that with my ISP so I'm not sure what to set it to. The uploads seem OK but I haven't done a speed test in awhile. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hmm problem only exists in Win 7 and not XP. Sounds like a driver issue. Have you tried any other drivers rather than the one Win 7 installs automatically?

try getting the wifi driver from said manf, or better yet even a steup up for the chipset and not the specific card - win7 finds the drivers, but are they the best?
it still bugs me that my gpu drivers are out of date - i have 190,s and it wants to put the 185's on.

That is correct. I haven't tried other drivers since I figured it would find the newest ones. I'll give that a try.
