Default Is there and external video card

I have a laptop that only has 64MB of Vram, and does not play games well. I was wondering if there is such a thing as an external video card? I have been looking around with nothing of interest, so hopefully someone can help. I thought that EVGA came out with one that used the G80 GPU but I cannot find it.

best to just keep that laptop for your word processing/internet browsing instead of dumping money if there is even such a thing as external gpu

2007 announced Asus XG Station
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/laptops/a...ard-226648.php

2008; not released yet!!
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/ces...tion,4679.html
Quote:
The XG Station houses a single or double-slot PCI-Express x16 graphics card, using a notebook's Express Card interface to provide x1 bandwidth. This allows an included (unspecified model) mainstream graphics card to exceed Intel's 965GM performance by over 6.7 times, according to Asus.
Nice; your choice of GPU in the housing, though it will only go at pci-e1x speed

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XG_Station
You also need a separate monitor, but you probably knew that!
Quote:
In early 2008, the XG Station was only made available in Australia. It consisted of an NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT with 256MB DDR3 for approximately AUD$375. By mid-2009, the XG Station was withdrawn from sale.[5][6]

They do make an external video card, a 3650 and 3670 iirc. It's called xgp I think, kinda like integrated is igp.

There's a little box, 3870. Forgot what it was called, Avivo or something like that.

*edit
Called the Amilo.

Someone mentioned ViDock. You need an Express Card. ViDock2 is what you want. Can handle ATI HD4670 w/512MB DDR3 memory. About $300 w/card.
