I had a question regarding this Laptop.
I was looking around and this machine caught my eye. Is it worth the price they are asking for? And I found the Specs Sheet too. For a more detailed report of the machine. I really like Toshiba and I didn't really mind using Nvidia all too much. Hell, it's got a Core i7 too. I suppose I am just looking for a good mobile Laptop that I won't be disappointed with in a year or two.

Seems pretty damn good by UK prices. Not sure what US prices are like, but in pound sterling that price looks more than fine for a laptop of that spec.

I'd say that is a decent price for an i7, blu-ray, and 250GT, but this is what sucks...
Weight* Starting at 10.1 lbs.

Well everything can't be golden I suppose right?
But it's good to see that a company is finally selling a fairly powerful computer for a decently marked price. Any other brands I should look at?

I receive a lot of different brand laptops at work, and from a mere construction standpoint, I think Dell is the best put together laptop. They are solid with better materials in general. I would stay away from Acer unless you just want a cheap laptop. They feel cheap and the keyboards suck. Sony has some goofy BIOS in a lot of the new ones which is ridiculous and I would stay away from those as well. HP's aren't too bad, but it depends on the one you get. They tend to have nice screens on them. I know a fair amount of people with Toshiba's and they seem to be satisfied with them. The new Toshiba Portege is junk compared to the small Dell XPS laptops though. You are looking at a high end rig which I don't come across usually so it might be pretty nice.

I had an HP which was nice aesthetically, but as mentioned above like for the Sony's, it had a hell of a goofy BIOS. Refused to boot off of USB devices despite claiming to support it.

Core i7, blu ray, 4GB RAM, and decent video card for less than $1200 is pretty good for a laptop.
