Have any of you guys replaced the wireless card in your Asus Eee 1000HE? Do you really have to take it completely apart just to get to it (all I found is this)? The reason I want to change mine is because I've had nothing but trouble and horrible horrible performance with the stock Wi-Fi Card.
For the replacement card, I'm thinking of an Intel 5300. Do you guys know if I need the mini or regular one. I don't think mine is mini but it's hard to see the card to know for sure. I'd appreciate any assistance guys.

Hey Ben, did you ever get around to doing this? A friend of mine is wanting to stick a 5300 in his 1000HE as well. From what I've found the stock wifi card is a mini PCIe but I'm not sure if slot has clearance for a full size card or not. Did you find any more info or get around to completing the upgrade?

No, unfortunately not. I really don't know how much of it I have to take apart. Maybe I'll get around to it but not yet.
