Default Lenovo T43 wireless and touch/mouse pad

so, i have a Lenovo T43, and i just formatted it with windows xp pro.
i got all the drivers besides the wireless and the touchpad. i don't even understand why the touch pad isn't working, i always thought u didn't NEED the drivers, that they only offered extra features, but it worked before i formatted and now it doesn't.
it's no my laptop so i'm not sure if it has a feature to turn the touchpad or wireless off. i looked but couldn't find a switch/botton for either.
Thanks in advance, any help would be appriciated
