Default How accurate is the battery meter and influenece of SSD

My laptop normally has 2 hours of battery life. The meter says 2:11 but when I'm on max brightness I usually last 2.

But now I recently slipped in a SSD (using it while I try to find a buyer ). I can boot windows 7 ultimate including BIOS in just 17 seconds. My battery life is listed now at 2:40 Total. How accurate is the reading anyways?

You will never have completely accurate time because when you are using, your usage makes power draw fluctuate. You see it can meter usage and charge and calculate but unless constant it won't be accurate.

Test and see.

I've seen power fluctuating on my laptop. Through use at college, my laptop lasted 4:30 through a 12 cell battery on my Compaq Presario. With a 6 cell battery, it lasted only 2 hours through normal usage.

Keep in mind that unlike an hard drive that has to keep spinning constantly, an SSD is idle whenever there is no reading or writing to it. However if used constantly, I don't think that your battery life will be much higher than with a regular HDD.

Doesn't the 12 cell stick out a lot and weigh a lot? Just curious, because I'm looking for something that has a battery life of at least 4 hours without going to a SOLO processor.

Ugh, too expensive compared to Canada here. I'm trying to avoid solo at this point due to the very low speed.

Yeah it does stick out like a sore thumb and weighs around 8lbs. for the whole thing. Compaq Presario laptops are not optimized for speed or power. This is why I'm looking for an Asus or Clevo for a multimedia/gaming laptop. I don't carry it around a lot and certainly I don't use it without an extension cord to power it. When it sticks out though, my laptop is cooler due to higher elevation and not heating the ground where my laptop is.

the Canada NCIX.site (which is bout 1 hour away from where I am) offers similar laptops for $620 CAD). Plus getting it shipped from the states would cost me tariffs if the laptop wasn't shipped as a gift.

I mean Dual Solo, but I'm concerned about the low speed. I do have an extra Intel 80gb SSD I've been trying to sell but without luck, not sure how much that would help with photoshop processing though.
