Ok guys....wow! this site has grown beyond what i ever though it would 2 years ago.....
ok, so i am gonna buy a laptop finally and have some opinion quesitons.... 1) core duo 2 - 2.16 versus pent m 2.0+ ---- the m's seem to cost more? which is better - i honestly have no idea... 2) what is your take on IBM vs Toshiba vs Fujitsu (i have narrowed it down to these 3) 3) my budget is anywhere from 1000 - 3000 ----what would you buy? no mac suggestions please......not looking for a comp with all the bells/whistles, but a great comp and great value 4) purpose is light gaming --- mostly a long lasting(tech wise), fast, quality build.....i need desktop power, but not a full desktop replacement..... -- 15 - 17 monitor's only.....wide of course..... LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK! --- i am welcome to any and all suggestions....

1) well the core duo has newer architecture, while the M has a higher speed....i would go with the core duo, as it is 65nm, and has greater OC potential
2)the most reputable is IBM. toshiba is good too, and fujitsu isnt great. id go IBM 3)thats a broad budget. you could get any laptop you like with that budget, but i would get: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834117282 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220031 or for looks: http://global.acer.com/products/notebook/fr4000.htm 4)those all work for light gaming

, but i would go with the core duo as well because its 65nm and it runs cooler. And i wouldn't really recommend Toshiba laptops, my dad has one and it gets very hot, the bottem is very hot and even with his laptop fan sitting on the bottem the CPU temp is still like 48 idle and its only 1.8GHz lol. Id go with IBM or Acer, they're both good laptop companies.
