it could still work you could replace the screws in the yellow hoop with longer ones so the hoop no longer touches the MB any more.. that would give you the required height.. How ever you'd need to measure the inside measurements of the hoop to see if the hot plates would fit inside it .. if it doesn't i maybe able to change my design to get it t fit.. Also ide need to know the height from the MB to the TOP of the CPU

Not to revive an old thread (or hijack one), but I caught this thread from google and decided to register. I couldn't find any good information anywhere else on TEC CPU cooling either so I thought I'd ask some questions here...
Would it be possible to get lower temperatures by stacking TEC devices? What about stacking with lower watt TEC devices (like 90W)? Anyone know a good resource that explains the math for TEC devices? My real goal is to create a really quiet and really cold computer with an emphasis on quiet. The PC I'm modding sits in a recording studio control room and the fans make a lot of noise so I've been researching TEC devices for quiet cooling... From what I've read in this thread I'm thinking I'll need something that might be more noisy to cool the hot side ? Or should I just go water cooling for quiet ? Arg... This one is frustrating me ![]() Anyone care to add their two cents ? |
