Default GNOME Terminal Problems
I cant seem to type my password in when the password prompt comes up i dunno, maybe im just stupid??

When you enter your password in Linux, it will not be displayed, not even like *****.
If for some reason after you enter your password and it doesn't work then try su- <ENTER> then you'll enter the root password then the command.
