There are no exe files in Linux, did you download the linux version though? This might help you, here.
Hope that helps. I had trouble at first too trying to get my machine to folding in Linux. Goes smoothly now though.

lol it will take some getting used to im afraid. just play around till u get stuff working. if it was suse i could help you more. all you would have to do is install rpms. you cna get cpu burn-in for linux if u want to test stability. temps are hard to setup i have done an faq but its not been approved yet and as for info do cat /proc/cpuinfo

Yeah, I thought it was neat when I tried it . Then I wanted to change my monitor res and the only way it could be done was by messing with the OS's code, which I first had to research, then get compiled, then integrate into the OS... All just to change my monitor res... Not only that, but even when I'd gone though all that hassle, I still couldn't change my monitor res, because I'd managed to break the OS... The only way to fix it was either to reinstall it, or a have a degree in Linux...

I like the idea of a free OS to give some choice to Windows users, but the people who make and distribute the various incarnations of Linux will have to make it far more user friendly if they ever want their OS to represent a real alternative to Windows, imo.

Enjoy your Ubuntu experience while it lasts, you'll soon find that even the simplest Windows tasks are 45 minutes of hassle in Linux and then you can't install half the stuff you want to...

Linux might be OK for those who want to get their hands dirty with the code, but if you just want to be an OS user and not a part-time programmer, Linux really isn't for you, from my limited experience anyway .

btw i found cpuz will run in linux but will not display any of the motherboard information or cpu multiplier
