If your laptop is less than 5 years old, then it probably can. Just go into the BIOS and change the boot order to include USB and\or enable other boot devices. If it runs the intel boot agent, change it in there too.

Remember that having an OS on a USB Hdd will slowdown the performance of the overall OS as it hast to utilize the USB buse to acces the motherboard.

well it hasnt that badly and the laptop is like 3 months old just it doesnt have the option in bios. it might need an update

nope. anyway i created a bood cd to get round it not a problem. im so happy the broadcom drivers worked under ndiswrapper
