I found some drivers that enable 3d rendering for my video card in Linux (Fedora Core 5), but it says I need the most resent version of X.org. How do I update my version of X.org?

I would think you would already have the latest x server/x.org with Fedora 5. To update though you simply update the ports tree I beleive.
