Default i hate dial up.....
iv been trying to get my agere chipset winmodem to work on suse 10.1 from what i can figure out suse 9 and up has the drivers for my modem but when i try to start up kinternet it gives me a error about smpppd and when i try to configure kppp it doesnt even detect it so

the problem is that i cant get anything other than sat. and dial up so.....i could use a little help here

The simplest thing for you to do is to purchase an external modem that plugs into a serial port.

There appear to be drivers written for Agere/Lucent winmodems, but the installation does not look too straightforward:
