Ok, so...does anyone know why I can't access my windows partition in Fedora Core?
__________________I could do it when I used the Slax LiveCd, and listened to my MP3s...but I can't listen to my music with Fedora, and this is keeping me from playing around with it as much. Any help would be nice. (all it shows is my dvd drives, and my floppy drives...and obvs my linux partition)

Ahhh thanks. I'll have to set up yum after work and get to this. I read something about "mounting ntfs", but it involved a lot of manual work. Looks like this is a lot easier. Thanks for the help. I'll let you know how it goes later today.

These are some of the notes I made for my self when I was teaching myself how to use Fedora stuff
__________________How to get Fedora Core 3 to Recognize Your NTFS Drive 1 -Download: "kernel-module-ntfs-2.6.9-1.681_FC3-2.1.20-0.rr.3.3.i686.rpm" 2 -Install: rpm -i kernel-module-ntfs-2.6.9-1.681_FC3-2.1.20-0.rr.3.3.i686.rp 3 -Add the following code to the bottom of /etc/fstab: /dev/hdb1 /winxp ntfs defaults,users,auto,umask=000 0 0 ****/dev/hdb1 <--- device is the second/ slave hard drive, first partition. ****/WinXp name of location Xp hard drive is mounted to. ****ntfs signifies what type of file system it is 4 -then make directory winxp: cd / mkdir winxp 5 -Then mount: mount -a I hope that is helpful. I formatted my HD 10 times when I was first learning to make a dual OS system. By the time I was done I had these steps memorized. EDIT: I just realized it said FC5 in your title. so this may be useless

Didn't work. It says "no match for argument:kmod-ntfs" "nothing to do" Any other suggestions? I'd really like to get it working with just yum...it's a lot easier than anything i've ever used before lol

Before you do the install make sure to type this in terminal "yum remove kernel-module-ntfs" without quotes pink

You can also use the captive driver. I haven't used it personally because I recompiled my kernel to include NTFS support, but the captive drivers have safe, full write support.

The Captive driver appears to have been made obsolete by the ntfs-3g FUSE driver.
