Default GRUB 1.5 is SLLLOOOOOWW

Hey all, finally got Unbuntu installed after battling with it for a while. Im using the GRUB loader 1.5 for my dual boot. Honestly it takes it like 5 minutes just to get to the screen where I select my OS. Is this normal? Is there any way to speed it up or a diffrent program I can use? Thanks

Mines like .1sec.

I think LILO tends to be faster if you wanted to try that.

Same.

What disto you got? If its debian based (Ubuntu etc) then do in a terminal:

sudo update-grub

if that says "Invalid command" or something similar, switch the update and the grub bit around.
