Default Linux, Sli, and SuSE 10.1

Well after my last 2 adventures im bound and determined not to just reinstall and start over, but to work through the problems im facing, one such hurdle, happens to be SLI. how do get my two cards to stop rendering two diffrent displays and to render one display. Right now one card renders a 800x600 square and then the other card for some reason displays as a 1600x1200, but gives me a black screen. I cannot open the monitor and video card section in yast either. any suggestions?
