i looked i found cinelerra
but i cant seem to kow how to istall anything
its not an rpm
its an gz or tar
im looking for an rpm

all you probably need to do in unpack the package

tar -zxvf package_name

then move into the new folder created

cd new_folder

then type
./configure
make
make install
make clean

i tried an tgz
it extracted
but the ./configure says no such file
and make says no make file found

then is there a file called installer. If not then there is nothing to install and all you need to do is run the script to start the program. When you run the command in the folder whats the output?
