hey guys, i got a bunch of ubuntu cd's today, they were free and i got about 10 of them. They gave me 9 32 Bit's and 1 64 Bit Ubuntu CD's.
Pretty cool, so my question is, 1. The ubuntu cd's are version 6.06. If i install this, will i be able to 'update' it? 2. Do i need to wipe out my drive in order to install ubuntu on a diffrent partition? ( i have about.. 100Gigs unpartitioned. ) 3. Is it easy to setup? What programs can i run on Ubuntu? Thanks! -uberN00b

no, you don't have to wipe the drive if you have unpartitioned space.
6.06 is the long term support version, i'm not sure if it gets anymore updates. If it's like 6.10, it's very easy to set up. https://help.ubuntu.com/6.06/

After you install it, it'll install GRUB on your MBR. So when the system boots, it'll boot the BIOS, then it'll boot GRUB, and GRUB will give you the option to boot either into windows or Ubuntu.
