We are total apple noobs so we have no clue as to what to do. It just wont turn on at all.

its cause its mac thats why. Acutally i dont no check all connections inside (if you can even go inside them)

Its the kind that has everything inside the moniter, but ok thanks for the suggestion. Does a mac have a cmos battery?

i find with the iMacs that you might have to plug it out and plug it back in again. There is also a reset command on start-up but I cant seem to remember it at the moment.

(I'm with zypex)
__________________we've tried a different power cord. It seems like it would be really hard to get to the cmos, is there a chance that its the power supply? ok my next question, would it be smarter to try and fix it or just look towards a new system, this time pc lol

How old is it? Still in warranty?
In all honesty, not many people will be able to help you on this forum. After all, you can't overclock a mac. I would advice going to a forum specaillising in macs and post your problems there. And macs rock lol. <3 bootcamp, OS X and XP

There is a button on the inside of some mac motherboards, which clears the pram. Pram = Cmos on macs for the most part, its usually a little grey button about the size of a pin. Other then that its either a dead powersupply or dead logic board.
