Try holding shift and scrolling your mouse wheel while on the page ( I have no experience in that OS but you can do that in windows LAWL )

In Firefox, go to Edit->Preferences->Advanced. Then, click on the "General" tab. Tick the "Use autoscrolling" option.
Then, type "about:config" in the address bar. Then, type the word "middle" into the filter bar. Double click on the "middlemouse.contentLoadURL" and "middlemouse.paste" entries so that their values are false.

What specifically went wrong? (I'm not 100% positive ntfs-3g in in APT, so that would screw things at the get-go....)
EDIT: Here is a full guide to using ntfs-3g at the Ubuntu forums. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=217009
